Role Summary

The Ultrasound MFM Technologist is a skilled professional who utilizes diagnostic ultrasound technology to provide patient care services. This role encompasses a variety of procedures and responsibilities as permitted by law, based on education and clinical experience. The individual must demonstrate proficiency and hold the necessary ARDMS certifications, which are recognized standards in the field of ultrasound.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient capabilities to undergo procedures while demonstrating a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology.
  • Develop and implement procedural plans adhering to established protocols.
  • Identify sonographic features of normal and abnormal tissues, adjusting techniques to enhance image quality.
  • Conduct measurements and calculations in accordance with practice standards.
  • Ensure minimal patient exposure to ultrasound energy while maintaining examination integrity.
  • Confirm compliance of examinations with relevant protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of diagnostic and patient information.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate Degree or higher in a relevant technological field.
  • Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a minimum of one year of obstetric experience.
  • Preferred: One year of experience as an MFM Sonographer.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Current ARDMS certification in Obstetrics within one year of hire.
  • Fetal Echocardiography certification must be obtained within two years of hire.
  • Fetal Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone certifications required within one year of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be acquired within 30 days of employment.
