Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based treatment and support services to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial nursing assessments for clients within 24 hours of admission, ensuring compliance with established program policies and state regulations.
  • Arrange appointments with healthcare providers to secure physical examinations, health screenings, and necessary tests.
  • Administer medications and supervise self-administered medications, adhering to regulatory guidelines and agency policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of medical supplies and inventory, ensuring compliance with governing regulations and agency standards.
  • Counsel clients on nutrition, healthcare, self-care, and symptom management.
  • Ensure clients have adequate medical coverage, guaranteeing safety, proper care, and provider compliance for payment.
  • Implement health seminars on topics such as HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, and more.
  • Participate in treatment and multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to infection control policies and practices.
  • Provide education to clients on health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
  • Maintain LPN license with good standing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or designee.

Working Conditions

  • Required to work weekends at least once a month, including one off-shift per week, to ensure program coverage.
  • May be required to work shifts outside of assigned shifts during critical staffing shortages.
  • The minimum holiday requirement is 1 major summer holiday and 1 major winter holiday, with other holidays rotated amongst staff.
  • This position is deemed essential and will be required to work during inclement weather.
  • For Gaudenzia sites with multiple programs, you may be required to work in any of the programs based on staffing needs.
