Position: Network Security Analyst
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per year

Overview:
The primary role of the Network Security Analyst involves overseeing, deploying, configuring, and managing the organization’s suite of security applications while ensuring that endpoints are consistently updated with the latest system and security patches. This position requires collaboration with IT Operations engineers and management as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and training on existing information security tools to become a subject matter expert.
  • Assist in the management of all security tools, including firewalls, data encryption, desktop security, server security, anti-malware, ransomware protection, MDM management, and DNS filtering.
  • Provide daily monitoring and reporting of security incidents.
  • Monitor the organization's network for security breaches, documenting and investigating any violations.
  • Execute timely and thorough security patch management across the enterprise.
  • Maintain compliance with the organization’s cybersecurity plan, supporting regular disaster recovery and network penetration testing efforts.
  • Continuously enhance security standards and best practices within the organization.
  • Identify and report potential risks or vulnerabilities from both internal and external sources.
  • Stay informed on the latest security trends and recommend improvements to the Security Engineer and IT Management.
  • Support computer technicians and end users in learning about or implementing new security products and procedures.
  • Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc IT security audits as directed by IT management.
  • Participate in security incident management and prepare communications for IT management and internal stakeholders.
  • Document postmortem reviews of security incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT systems security.
  • Current certifications in Information Security (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISA, GIAC Security Essentials, Certified Ethical Hacker) are preferred.
  • Extensive experience with various Windows Server configurations in virtualized and high-availability environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory and messaging systems.
  • Experience with command-line interface management and scripting.
  • Ability to perform essential endpoint troubleshooting for systems such as computers and mobile devices.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, routers, switches, data encryption, and security techniques for both desktop and server environments.
  • Knowledge of compliance protocols related to HIPAA, PCI, and secure management of Protected Health Information (PHI) is required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff at all levels.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent training is preferred.
