Cybersecurity Specialist

Position: Network Security Analyst

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per year

Overview:
The primary role of the Network Security Analyst involves overseeing, implementing, configuring, and managing a comprehensive suite of security applications to ensure that endpoints are consistently updated with the latest system and security enhancements. This position collaborates closely with IT Operations engineers and management as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and gain expertise in the organization's existing information security tools.
• Assist in the management of various security tools, including firewalls, data encryption, desktop security, server security, anti-malware solutions, ransomware defenses, mobile device management, and DNS filtering.
• Conduct daily monitoring and generate reports regarding the organization's network for potential security breaches, promptly reporting and investigating any violations.
• Implement timely and thorough security patch management across the enterprise.
• Maintain adherence to the company's cybersecurity strategy, including supporting regular disaster recovery efforts and network penetration testing.
• Continuously enhance security standards and best practices within the organization.
• Identify and report potential risks or vulnerabilities, whether they originate internally or externally.
• Stay informed about the latest security trends and propose enhancements to the Security Engineer and IT Management.
• Support computer technicians and end users in understanding and installing new security products and procedures.
• Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc IT security audits as directed by IT management.
• Participate in the management of security incidents, preparing communications for distribution to IT management and internal stakeholders.
• Document and prepare postmortem reviews of security incidents.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in IT systems security.
• Preferred certifications in Information Security (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISA, GIAC Security Essentials, Certified Ethical Hacker).
• Extensive experience with various Windows Server configurations in virtualized and high-availability environments.
• Strong background in Microsoft Active Directory and messaging systems.
• Proficient in command-line interface management and scripting.
• Ability to perform essential troubleshooting for endpoints, including computers and mobile devices.
• Experience with firewalls, routers, switches, data encryption, and security techniques for both desktop and server environments.
• Familiarity with compliance protocols related to HIPAA, PCI, and secure management of Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff at all organizational levels.
• A Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training is preferred.
