About the Role

The University of California is seeking a highly skilled Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at the UCSF Medical Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary health provider team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care services to adult and geriatric patients with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and administer a full range of speech therapy services, including patient evaluations, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals, and development of therapeutic intervention programs.
  • Implement therapeutic intervention plans utilizing all aspects of the speech language pathology scope of practice.
  • Maintain all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services.
  • Supervise support personnel, including Rehabilitation Aides, as needed.
Requirements
  • Masters degree with clinical fellowship and minimum of 1 year of related patient care experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to recognize signs of distress.
  • Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification.
  • Basic computer skills in word processing and online communication.
  • Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem solving, and self-initiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior speech language pathology experience in an academic medical center environment.
  • Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team.
License/Certification
  • Possession of or proven eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board of California.
  • AHA BLS CPR certification.
