Position Overview
As an International Student Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Admissions office by acting as a Designated School Official (DSO). Your primary responsibilities will include preparing SEVIS I-20 Forms for prospective international students and ensuring that all student records comply with U.S. immigration regulations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Serve as a DSO, conducting interviews with international students and their families to evaluate their needs for SEVIS I-20 Form issuance for admissions, transfers, or status changes.
2. Provide guidance to international students on various matters, including personal and financial needs, academic challenges, immigration issues, health insurance, travel, and financial aid options.
3. Oversee the College's International Student SEVIS Activities Programs, including audits and status alerts, while acting as a liaison between the institution and federal/state agencies.
4. Review prospective students' documentation to determine eligibility for Student Visas in accordance with immigration policies.
5. Maintain an organized filing system for currently enrolled international students, ensuring that each file is complete and ready for audits each semester.
6. Monitor international student progress to ensure compliance with immigration regulations and assist with the import/export of student records to SEVIS.
7. Develop and maintain informational resources for international students and coordinate with various departments to provide comprehensive support services.
8. Prepare necessary documentation for reinstatement, change of status, work authorization, and optional practical training requests.
9. Conduct ongoing reviews of compliance with regulations set forth by the Department of Homeland Security to ensure adherence to SEVIS requirements.
10. Offer academic and immigration advising to both prospective and current international students, guiding them in their educational planning and course selection.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a post-secondary institution, including at least 1 year of SEVIS experience.
- Preferred experience in program development and providing services to diverse populations.

Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in MS Office and Information Management Systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Working Environment
This position is based in a general office setting, requiring the ability to perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Candidates must be able to remain stationary during shifts and handle items weighing up to 25 pounds. Flexibility to work after hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
