Job Title: Development and Grant Associate

Job Summary:

The Development and Grant Associate will play a critical role in supporting the fundraising and grant writing efforts of New York Common Pantry. This position will assist with scheduling board committee meetings, assembling materials, and maintaining the Raiser's Edge database. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate board committee meetings, ensuring all necessary materials are prepared and distributed.
  • Assist with processing donations, issuing acknowledgment letters, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Manage the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring all entries are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Develop and maintain routine fundraising reports, providing insights into donor trends and patterns.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Grant Writer to assess, develop, and execute NYCP's strategic grants process.
  • Research and analyze potential foundation, corporation, and government opportunities, presenting findings to the Senior Grant Writer.
  • Write and edit proposals, reports, and supporting materials, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development office.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and/or GSuite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Strong familiarity with data entry and database management, with prior experience with Raiser's Edge highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
