Job Summary

The Nation is seeking a highly skilled Development Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will be responsible for executing our digital fundraising program, including email campaigns, email cultivation, digital ads, paid search/social, and event marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Work with the Associate Publisher to develop and execute event marketing and email fundraising campaigns, including developing campaign strategies, testing and segmentation, drafting copy and designing creative, and ensuring deployment on a timely schedule.
Draft and execute monthly email donor newsletters, communicating and cultivating donors to keep them appraised of our work and journalism.
Update and maintain all digital collateral, including banner ads, light boxes, and touts as needed, as well as other event promotional materials.
Maintain landing pages/donation forms and fundraising mini-sites, update pages, and develop new forms as needed.
Ensure donor databases and email records are updated and accurate, and ensure sustaining donors are accurately tracked and develop strategies to grow monthly donors and upgrade existing donors.
Maintain monthly reporting on email and digital performance, manage the events calendar, and provide technical assistance for online events and provide assistance during in-person events.
Assist donors with customer service issues, process and acknowledge donations, and assist with other tasks as needed.

Requirements

At least 2 years of fundraising experience, with a strong background in digital fundraising and email marketing.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, initiate projects, problem solve, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate and cultivate donors to keep them appraised of our work and journalism.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a strong understanding of donor databases and email marketing platforms.
A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management or a related field is preferred, as is a commitment to The Nation's mission and interest in progressive politics.
