About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Sponsored Programs and Research Administration to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our research administration team, you will be responsible for overseeing the pre-award and post-award activities for our sponsored research portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Award Research Administration
    • Provide daily oversight of proposal development, submission, and negotiation.
    • Assist and advise research faculty and staff on proposal development and submission.
    • Coordinate with sponsors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
  • Post-Award Research Administration
    • Oversee the administration of sponsored research awards, including contract negotiation and management.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and university policies.
    • Develop and implement processes to improve research administration efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Provide leadership and guidance to research administration staff.
    • Collaborate with research faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to advance research initiatives.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors and other external partners.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as research administration, higher education, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in research administration, preferably in a university setting.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Extensive knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines related to sponsored research.
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
