Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician

About the Role:
Benchmark Human Services is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician to join our team in Dover, DE. As a Registered Behavior Technician, you will work as a Direct Support Professional, providing support and guidance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

Direct Support Professional Duties:
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized plans to achieve identified outcomes.
  • Ensure the health and safety of individuals while pursuing community opportunities and at home.
  • Assist individuals with daily living skills, including personal care and household tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment for individuals.
  • Practice safety drills as scheduled.
  • Assist individuals in accessing community resources, shopping, and recreational activities.
  • Administer medications and follow physicians' orders.
  • Assist the nurse in meeting the individual's healthcare needs.
  • Monitor the general well-being of individuals and follow supervisor/nurse instructions.
  • Communicate health issues and concerns to nurse and supervisor.
  • Provide communication to supervisor(s) regarding individuals receiving services.
  • Comply with and implement all protocols for individuals, including high-risk plans and seizure management plans.
  • Follow food management policies and assist individuals in preparing nutritious meals.
  • Complete proper documentation relating to the individual's healthcare and programmatic documentation.
  • Communicate all reportable incidents to supervisor immediately.
  • Provide receipts to supervisor for individual expenditures.
  • Maintain employment-required documentation and certification.

RBT Duties:
  • Assist agency staff with development, implementation, and monitoring of Behavior Support Plans.
  • Work with DSPs and their supervisors to ensure all materials/supplies needed for implementation of behavior plans are available.
  • Model positive behavioral supports and respond to emergency situations as trained.
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessment Interviews and/or Observations, as assigned by BCBA or Director.
  • Provide crisis de-escalation support to teams as required.

Other Expectations:
  • Complete all documentation as expected in a timely manner.
  • Attend all agency, departmental, and client-specific meetings as directed.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to supervisor or department head.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health, safety, and confidentiality of all individuals.

Qualifications:
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor degree in a related field is required.
  • Successfully complete a criminal background registry check at time of application.
  • Experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Have Current RBT Certification.
