Primary Care Physician

Corewell Health West is in search of a board certified or board eligible physician specializing in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics to establish a new Value-Based Primary Care Clinic aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of diverse communities.
This innovative clinic will feature 6 examination rooms, a procedure room, flexible spaces, and a large area dedicated to patient education, including cooking classes and community outreach initiatives. Local artists will contribute to the clinic's aesthetic, enhancing the environment for patients and staff alike.
The clinic will focus on providing Value-Based Primary Care, lifestyle medicine, and various supportive services such as financial counseling, health insurance literacy, workforce development, language assistance, and virtual care utilizing advanced technology.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to serving patients from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, particularly those facing resource limitations. Collaborating with a local non-profit organization, this practice aims to reduce health disparities and promote healthier lifestyles within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and monitor the medical needs of patients and their families.
- Deliver high-quality medical services efficiently.
- Contribute to the formulation of policies and procedures that enhance medical practice and patient care quality.
- Supervise Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and other healthcare providers delivering delegated services.
- Assess educational needs of patients and staff, implementing effective teaching strategies.
- Maintain documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Valid Physician (MD) or Osteopathic Physician (DO) license in the State of Michigan.
- DEA Registration in the State of Michigan.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA, if applicable.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to meet various physical demands with differing weight and frequency requirements.
Work Environment:
Full-time position with a daytime schedule, requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with on-call weekend responsibilities.
