This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the Center for the Study of Tobacco, focusing on various administrative functions, outreach initiatives, and database management for grant-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Center's Director and faculty, overseeing daily operations related to travel arrangements and procurement of necessary supplies.
  • Assist in budget oversight and ensure adherence to institutional policies and procedures.
  • Implement processes and standard operating procedures to guarantee compliance with UAMS regulations.
  • Facilitate the planning and coordination of logistics for regular research team meetings.
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and community partners to manage scheduling and coordination of meetings and activities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the Center, ensuring effective communication across UAMS and with external stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized records of documents and manage data entry into various systems.
  • Support the development of educational materials and communications for research projects.
  • Engage in community outreach and maintain relationships with external partners.
  • Participate in training and educational programs as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of relevant administrative or program coordination experience, or an Associate's degree with four years of experience, or a High School diploma/GED with six years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments.
