Job Title: Associate Director of Home-Based Child Care Research

Erikson Institute is seeking a highly qualified Associate Director to lead research initiatives focused on home-based child care. The successful candidate will have a strong background in policy-relevant research and a deep understanding of early care and education policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support mixed-methods research design, implementation, and dissemination processes across research initiatives.
  • Develop new funding proposals for research in home-based child care.
  • Collaborate with the Initiative Director and Research Manager to ensure research implementation aligns with timeline and proposed deliverables.
  • Offer quality assurance for all research products.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and conducting policy-relevant research focused on early care and education with federal and/or foundation funding.
  • Deep knowledge of early care and education and child care policy.
  • Advanced mixed methods research skills.
  • Computer literacy including Research Tools (e.g., SPSS, Stata, Nvivo) Microsoft Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), Project Management tools (e.g., SmartSheet, Teams, Asana).
  • Experience translating research for policy and program audiences; strong writing and communication skills.
  • Experience leading dissemination and communications via multiple outlets (e.g., reports, policy briefs, social media).
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with groups.
  • Experience interacting with economically, culturally, and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Training in HIPAA, FERPA, and/or research ethics (e.g., CITI certification).
  • Master's degree or PhD focused on policy research in social work, early childhood, human development, public policy, public health, human services, or related field.
  • A commitment to and clear articulation of an interest in advancing equity.
