ABOUT US

Climate change is governed by fundamental truths about carbon sources, accumulation, impacts, and, crucially, effective solutions. These truths must guide our strategies: they demonstrate that preventing dangerous climate change is only achievable through robust policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions promptly, particularly in the largest emitting countries.

To tackle these challenges, Energy Innovation was founded in 2012 as a clean energy and environmental policy firm dedicated to providing timely research and analysis on low-carbon energy policy options for policymakers, thought leaders, and media representatives. The Energy Innovation team possesses expertise in energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable urban development, technological innovation, and energy policy design. In addition to conducting policy research, Energy Innovation collaborates with clients to facilitate philanthropic investments in technology and advocacy aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Energy Innovation also supports the Climate Imperative Foundation.

Climate Imperative focuses on the most critical climate policy decisions globally, ensuring that these efforts are equitable. Each initiative targets a specific policy area and aims to inform policy change that could save billions of tons of CO2e cumulatively by 2050. For each initiative, we assemble and support a talented team of grantees, providing them with world-class technical advice, targeted communications, and public support as needed. The decisions we target represent the largest near-term carbon abatement opportunities worldwide.

Energy Innovation promotes a hybrid work environment, requiring all employees to convene in person a few times a year.
