Nurse Leader

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Nurse Leader to provide nursing leadership for a specific shift and unit/area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring staff, determining staffing levels and assignments, and evaluating the effectiveness of patient care.
Responsibilities- Supervise and mentor staff during assigned shift, ensuring that they have the necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
- Provide direct patient care as needed, and float between staff to assist with problem-solving.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, including formal evaluation, and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
- Respond to complaints about patient care and related services, and manage through established channels.
- Perform role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Relevant certification as determined at position level.
- 1 year of nursing experience. Per UEXCEL Bylaws, must promote to Charge Nurse III within 3 years of promotion to Charge Nurse.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
