Job Summary:

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Nurse Leader to provide nursing leadership for a specific shift and unit/area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring staff, determining staffing levels and assignments, and evaluating the effectiveness of patient care. Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff during assigned shifts, ensuring they have the necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
  • Determine staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, abilities, census, and patient acuity.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, identifying any issues that affect desired patient outcomes and responding to complaints through established channels.
  • Perform role-specific duties, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 1 year of nursing experience and relevant certification as determined at position level.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
