Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Nurse Leader to join our team at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center. As a key member of our Float Pool, you will provide nursing leadership for a specific shift and unit/area, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor staff during assigned shifts, determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, abilities, census, and patient acuity.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed, floating between staff to assist with problem-solving and taking patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, identifying any issues that affect desired patient outcomes and responding to complaints through established channels.
  • Perform role-specific duties, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers, ensuring staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
  • Exercise critical thinking skills, making decisive judgments and working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program, with less than 3 years of experience.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 1 year of nursing experience, with the ability to promote to Charge Nurse III within 3 years of promotion to Charge Nurse.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with a valid card in-hand before start date.
