We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Paralegal to join our team at NBCUniversal. The successful candidate will have a strong background in marketing and advertising, as well as experience in intellectual property and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Assist attorneys with the review of marketing and advertising collateral, including press releases, websites, mobile applications, and social media content, to ensure compliance with trademarks, rights of privacy/rights of publicity, intellectual property license agreements, and corporate guidelines.
- Review scripts and storyboards for social media, radio, and television commercials to ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines.
- Prepare first-draft product and offer terms and conditions, deal memos, and boilerplate marketing contracts, including disclosures, promotions/sweepstakes rules and agreements, advertising orders, waivers/releases/indemnity agreements, and other marketing and advertising-related agreements.
- Revise documents based on attorney and client feedback.
- Draft correspondence and maintain contract files.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with company-wide policies and initiatives related to customer data, privacy, and security.
- Act as a first point of contact for general day-to-day inquiries and as a filter to facilitate answers to queries across all internal departments as needed.
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years of in-house experience with a general focus on marketing/advertising, intellectual property, and internet-related/privacy matters, preferably in the entertainment industry.
- Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Previous experience specifically related to marketing/advertising through digital marketing and social media is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with little oversight and be able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently and effectively.
- Team player with a strong orientation toward collaborative, results-oriented environment.
- High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and judgment in order to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Resourceful and a strong work ethic.
