Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Property Manager to join our team at Indigo Real Estate Services, Inc. as an Affordable Community Director. This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our affordable housing properties, ensuring compliance with HUD and IRS program guidelines, and providing exceptional customer service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall operations of our affordable housing properties, including personnel management, leasing, collections, resident services, maintenance, budgeting, and capital improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with HUD and IRS program guidelines, as well as all applicable government agency standards and requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve resident satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with the management team to achieve financial objectives and protect the value and integrity of our properties.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in affordable housing management.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing multifamily affordable properties.
  • Direct experience with HUD and/or tax credit programs, including the use of Yardi management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of property management experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of managing 55 or more units.
  • Knowledge of Yardi or similar housing software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise quick and accurate judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective conflict resolution and customer service skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and multi-task with a strong attention to detail.
