Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our Maintenance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel repair, with experience working on Cummings and Detroit engines. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet of vehicles, as well as conducting diagnostic testing and keeping detailed records of all vehicles serviced.

Essential Functions
  • Perform on-site maintenance of our fleet in our outdoor facility, with flexibility to work from home
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake adjustments, and repairs deemed necessary by the vehicle's DVIR
  • Conduct diagnostic testing on fleet vehicles to identify and repair issues
  • Keep detailed records of all vehicles serviced, including maintenance and repair history
  • Conduct inspections of diesel machinery and vehicles to detect signs of possible deterioration
  • Work entails exerting force exceeding 100lbs occasionally, frequently lifting over 50lbs, and consistently moving objects weighing more than 20lbs, utilizing appropriate tools as necessary
  • Disassemble, overhaul, rebuild, repair, recondition, replace, and maintain parts of the engine, pumps, generators, transmission, clutches, differential unions, pistons, bearings, gear, and valves
  • Operate company vehicles, including parking, moving, positioning, testing, and performing road services
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Diesel repair experience, with a preference for Cummings and Detroit engines
  • Automotive repair experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a general mechanic
  • Prior transportation experience, including coach bus or ground transportation
  • CDL license (preferred)
  • ASE certification (preferred)
  • Experience with DOT inspections (preferred)
  • Must be available 7 days a week
  • Must be able to maintain regular attendance in accordance with company standards
