Job Summary

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Learning Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our childcare staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and implementing daily lesson plans, ensuring a stimulating and educational experience for our young learners.
  • Engage with children in the classroom, fostering a sense of community and promoting social-emotional growth.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child's daily activities and progress.
  • Prepare materials and resources for daily activities, maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment.
  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to plan and implement parent-teacher conferences, addressing any concerns or questions parents may have.
Requirements
  • Credential in Early Childhood Education or related field (e.g., Infant Toddler CDA).
  • Three to six months of childcare experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with software applications.
