Power Delivery Business Development Director Job Summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Director to lead efforts in expanding our client base and driving revenue growth within the electric utility sector. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets within the electric utility industry.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship-building with utility executives, decision-makers, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, client needs, and competitive landscape within the electric utility sector.
  • Lead the development and presentation of proposals, pitches, and presentations to prospective clients, showcasing our firm's expertise, capabilities, and value proposition.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including consultants, project managers, and subject matter experts, to develop tailored solutions and proposals that meet client needs and address industry challenges.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, from initial contact through contract negotiation and close, ensuring a seamless transition to project delivery teams.
  • Maintain and nurture ongoing relationships with existing clients, serving as a trusted advisor and seeking opportunities for additional engagements and upselling of services.
  • Represent Westwood Professional Services at industry conferences, events, and networking forums to raise awareness of our brand, build relationships, and generate leads.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies impacting the electric utility sector, and leverage insights to inform business development strategies.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates on sales pipeline, client interactions, and business development activities to senior management.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in driving business growth, achieving sales targets, and cultivating relationships with utility clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of the electric utility industry, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, grid modernization, and digital transformation.
