Patient Support Coordinator

The Patient Support Representative is a key member of our clinical team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greets patients professionally and answers incoming telephone calls in a timely and courteous manner.
- Assists patients with completing necessary paperwork and maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Schedules appointments and keeps the clinical team updated on schedule changes and patient arrivals.
- Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions.
- Participates in training opportunities and helps promote office efficiency and meet practice goals established by leadership.
- Scans insurance cards and collects payments for copay and/or patient balance, and verifies patient balances.
- Manages inventory of needed office supplies and monitors the waiting area.
- Keeps the front office area clean and organized, and updates patient demographics.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two year medical office experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with others to improve the patient experience and address needs.
- Ability to take initiative and handle various tasks simultaneously, with knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations, and protocols.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, with excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Physical Requirements:
- Adequate hearing and speaking skills to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
- Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds unassisted, with frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
Additional Requirements:
- As a participant in the Floater Staffing Pool, the Patient Support Representative will be available to work at any given location on the basis of staffing needs.
- Must have reliable transportation to remain in the Floater staffing pool.
- Must be available to work between Monday – Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, with the possibility of working Access Hope shifts on weekends.
