Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the continuous development of children to optimize their responses to medical care, minimize psychological stress and trauma, and increase understanding and coping with illness and health care experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement child life programs to support children and families in ambulatory and inpatient settings
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support to children and families
- Provide education and resources to staff and families on child development and child health experiences
- Advocate for children and families in healthcare settings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in child life or child development/developmental psychology concentration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Child life certification preferred at time of hire
- 480 hour child life internship with supervision by a CCLS
