Internship Structure
The Financial Affairs (Accounting) department has crafted an innovative program for interns at Metra, featuring a rotation-based curriculum. This structure allows participants to engage with various facets of accounting operations, including:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Financial Reporting
  • Fixed Asset Accounting
  • General Accounting
  • Payroll
  • Revenue Accounting
  • Internal Audit (for those interested)

This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of accounting operations, preparing students for their future careers.

Program Duration
The internship lasts up to one year, with three mandatory one-week breaks during the academic year.

Compensation
Interns can expect salary offers that range from the minimum to the midpoint of the salary scale, with full pay ranges available to reflect growth potential.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Maintain good academic standing throughout the internship.
  • Availability to work between 12 and 20 hours per week for up to one year, with the option to work 12-40 hours per week during summer months.
