Work Schedule:
7 AM - 7 PM (7 on 7 off rotation)

The Community You Will Serve:
  • Winter Park Memorial Hospital has been dedicated to the residents of Winter Park and surrounding areas for over 50 years.
  • Founded in 1951, the hospital has evolved from the vision of a few community leaders into a 307-bed acute care facility, exemplifying community health and wellness.
  • Over the years, the hospital has expanded its services to meet community needs, including upscale obstetrics, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, cancer care, and advanced surgical and rehabilitation services.

Your Role:
As a key member of our team, you will engage in exceptional customer service and maintain respectful relationships with all stakeholders. Your primary responsibilities will include medication distribution and pharmacy operations, assisting pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing, managing inventory, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will also be involved in the daily operations of the pharmacy department, accurately responding to medication requests, preparing medications for pharmacist review, and managing the return of unused or expired medications.

Your Contributions to the Team:
  • Perform all pharmacy technician duties proficiently and maintain expertise in hospital and pharmacy-specific systems.
  • Ensure operational competency by covering various pharmacy functions, including:
    • Central and distributive pharmacy operations
    • Sterile compounding
    • Automated dispensing systems
    • Controlled substance management
  • Participate in medication automation and technology utilization, maintaining proficiency in electronic health records.
  • Accurately complete medication inventories and prepare patient-specific doses while preventing errors.
  • Engage in special projects as directed by supervisors.
  • Understand waste disposal processes and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Ensure timely presence in assigned areas and maintain attendance standards.
  • Facilitate continuity of care across shifts and pharmacy areas.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the perspectives of patients and colleagues in all communications.
  • Support fellow team members through effective collaboration and conflict resolution.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of experience.

Licensure and Certification:
  • Required certifications include:
    • PTCB - Certified Pharmacy Technician
    • State Pharmacy Technician Registration
    • Sterile Compounding Certification (if applicable)
