Senior Distribution Technician

WORK OBJECTIVE

The role involves engaging in physically demanding tasks that necessitate considerable strength and stamina. The technician operates under guidance, adhering to both verbal and written directives. Responsibilities include basic machinery operation while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Duties may differ based on the specific division assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Utilizes specialized equipment to identify water and wastewater utility lines.
  • Maintains municipal property by performing tasks such as spraying, trimming, mowing, planting, and debris removal.
  • Supports field teams and skilled trades personnel with a variety of assignments.
  • Installs and repairs water and sewer infrastructure, including pipes, hydrants, valves, and related components.
  • Handles heavy materials, facilitates movement of objects, and interprets utility schematics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years' experience as a Field Technician II and possession of a valid water distribution system operator license is required.
  • Must hold a Florida CDL Driver's License Class B with air brake and tanker endorsements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Familiarity with maintenance and construction tools.
  • Capability to operate machinery and engage in strenuous manual labor.
  • Ability to comprehend and execute instructions, work autonomously, and utilize technical equipment effectively.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position entails physically intensive work, including lifting heavy materials.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is conducted in outdoor settings with exposure to various weather conditions.
