The Role

The Community Engagement Program Manager plays a vital role within YJP's Programs Team. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of YJP's community-focused initiatives. The Community Engagement Program Manager will collaborate with the Membership Team to enhance the growth of YJP's community membership. This role involves a hybrid work schedule, requiring two to three on-site days per week.

The Community Engagement Program Manager will also participate in in-person events during weekdays and evenings as necessary to ensure the successful delivery of assigned programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement engaging content for YJP's community programs.
  • Continuously innovate and develop exciting programming for YJP's community members.
  • Attend assigned programs to ensure effective execution and foster member relationships.
  • Act as the representative of programs during on-site events.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to support the creation of marketing materials related to programs.
  • Work alongside the Event Coordinator to manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, staffing, and setup/breakdown.
  • Assist with day-of event coordination to guarantee seamless operations (including setup management, vendor liaison, staff direction, and breakdown management).
  • Oversee the design and execution of event decor (including linens, floral arrangements, signage, and floor plans).
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and venues.
  • Research and explore potential external venues for events as needed.
  • Ensure that YJP's high standards for service and experience quality are consistently met.
  • Track event expenses and adhere to budget constraints.
  • Engage with event attendees to gather feedback and collaborate with the YJP team to enhance the event experience.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A thorough understanding of the Manhattan social landscape, ideally with experience in Jewish and/or Singles events.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality event experiences.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and addressing large audiences.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a liberal arts discipline.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in events or event planning, ideally in customer-facing roles within events or hospitality.
  • Knowledge of Kashrut laws and/or experience in coordinating Kosher events is essential.
  • Familiarity with the Jewish calendar and traditions, or a willingness to learn.
