In this pivotal role, you will guide a team of strategic program managers to oversee business operations within the Compliance division at Block. Your responsibilities will encompass daily operational management, prioritization, execution, communication, and collaboration with finance, HR, and recruiting to ensure timely project delivery. This position offers significant visibility across multiple business domains and the chance to engage in various compliance-related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish methods and procedures for unique assignments while leading a skilled team of Program Managers.
- Manage the annual and quarterly planning processes for Compliance across all business units, including goal establishment and monitoring.
- Oversee budget management in collaboration with finance and strategic planning.
- Work closely with HR on organizational structure and change management initiatives.
- Collaborate with recruiting to strategize headcount management, hiring processes, and approval workflows.
- Develop a comprehensive communication strategy to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination across the organization, including escalations to executive leadership.
- Lead strategic initiatives such as compliance cost analyses and technological investments.
- Manage strategic investments, M&A due diligence, and the integration of new acquisitions.
- Direct RFP processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
- Present findings and updates to the leadership team and Block executives to ensure cross-functional alignment.
- Understand the business strategies of Block, Cash App, Square, TIDAL, and TBD, collaborating with product and technology partners for alignment.
- Identify and implement operational enhancements and efficiency improvements.
- 10+ years of experience in business operations management and leadership within strategy, finance, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Proven experience leading teams through significant transitions.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, comfortable engaging with all levels of staff.
- Experience presenting to senior leadership.
- A data-driven approach to prioritization.
- Excellent project management capabilities, with foresight to anticipate challenges and align stakeholders.
- Ability to make prompt decisions, manage competing deadlines, and handle sensitive, confidential matters with discretion.
