Position Overview:
Job Title: Standard Platform Engineer

Essential Qualifications:
- Proficient in troubleshooting AWS environments

- Familiarity with Kubernetes (preferred)
- Active SECRET clearance and Security+ certification
The Platform Services Engineer will possess extensive software engineering expertise in constructing and managing hybrid-infrastructure developer platforms, encompassing both private and commercial cloud infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of deploying Kubernetes through various methodologies and facilitating automation of platform management at an enterprise level. This role requires the development of platform APIs that enable scalable and repeatable software operations. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining the essential services necessary for hosting containerized applications. Candidates should be mid to senior-level engineers capable of mentoring junior developers and engineers, with strong communication skills to engage with various stakeholders both within and outside the organization.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field; or equivalent professional experience.
- At least three (3) years of experience in developing production software using modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, NodeJS).
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in developing containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Mesos, or Swarm.
- Three-plus (3+) years of experience with agile and lean software development methodologies.
- One-plus (1+) years of experience with relational and/or non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
- Two-plus (2+) years of demonstrated experience with modern version control systems like Git, Subversion, or Mercurial.
- Ability to obtain a SECRET or higher security clearance.
- Must achieve CompTIA Security+ CE or other DoD 8570 IAT II certification within 90 days of onboarding.
Standard Level Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
- Three-plus (3+) years of experience in developing containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Mesos.
- Three-plus (3+) years of experience in building developer platform services and APIs that scale effectively in production.
- Three-plus (3+) years of experience in creating production services utilizing Cloud Infrastructure Providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Three-plus (3+) years of experience in Identity and Access Lifecycle Management Operations and Controls.
- Resume should reflect a deep understanding of modern microservices architectures, design patterns, resiliency techniques, and optimizations.
- Responsible for managing, reporting, and facilitating certification of access for all relevant resources, including SaaS, AWS, Azure, and other managed applications.
