Parts Manager Job Description

The Preston Automotive Group is seeking a skilled Parts Manager to oversee the daily operations of our parts department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our inventory, forecasting sales, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of our service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and the do-it-yourself public.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Forecast goals and objectives for the department and prepare an annual operating budget for the parts department.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all parts department staff.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that all dealership purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made and handle customer complaints immediately and according to our dealership's guidelines.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyze sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals and develop and utilize a lost sales tracking report.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Prior parts management experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to live our core values daily, and a drive to succeed.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
