Job Summary:
National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Roadway Worker In Charge to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of railroads and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide jobsite coordination and ensure compliance with railroad, state, and federal policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, train crews, and other railroad personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct thorough job briefings and enforce contractor training requirements.
- Identify and resolve rule violations in accordance with railroad, state, and federal policies.
- Submit daily field reports detailing contractor and/or railroad activities.
- Provide on-track safety in accordance with 49 CFR 214 federal regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with a Class 1 Railroad, Regional Short Line, Transit System, State DOT Rail Division, Railroad Supplier, Railroad Contractor, and/or Railroad Consultant.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong technical knowledge in railroad engineering, design, construction, and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
