Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the CPA and consulting firm to implement the Unanet accounting system.
  2. Establish and uphold internal controls and financial accounting systems for both internal and external reporting and analysis. Ensure that internal controls and confidentiality are effectively maintained and updated as necessary; monitor procedural systems, identify weaknesses, and recommend improvements.
  3. Support organizational objectives by providing strategic financial analysis and insights. Assist in formulating both long-term and short-term business operating goals. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to financial operations.
  4. Oversee all finance and accounting reporting activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closings; budgeting; forecasting; accounts payable and receivable; revenue recognition; cash management; and vendor relations.
  5. Manage a dynamic payroll process for over 500 employees each pay period, ensuring accurate payments to employees and tax authorities while maintaining comprehensive payroll records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  6. Guarantee the timeliness, accuracy, and relevance of financial and management reporting for the CEO and Board of Directors. Regularly prepare and communicate financial information to the Executive Management Team.
  7. Analyze and interpret statistical and accounting data to evaluate operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and overall fiscal health.
  8. Develop and maintain planning and budgeting systems, prepare the annual departmental budget, and manage corporate financial performance. Execute all month-end activities, including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate cost allocations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  2. 7+ years of progressive experience in finance, including general accounting and financial statement preparation.
  3. 3+ years of experience in a corporate Accounting Manager role, requiring a hands-on approach to all responsibilities.
  4. 5+ years of experience in managing payroll processes.
  5. Exceptional proficiency in Excel.
  6. Strong management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  7. Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MBA or MS in Accounting/Finance.
  2. CPA certification.
