Product Development Manager

Active Concepts is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our R&D Department, you will be responsible for supervising R&D Scientists and supporting the development of innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage R&D Scientists in the development of new products, ensuring timely completion of projects and effective communication with the Director of R&D.
  • Conduct independent research to identify novel product opportunities and present proposals to the Director of R&D.
  • Provide backup support to the Director of R&D and prioritize communication with the General Manager.
  • Assist R&D Scientists with product formulation, sourcing, and testing, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Oversee initial stability testing of lab batches and coordinate the coding process from experimental to final.
  • Support R&D Scientists and Technicians by suggesting new ideas, troubleshooting formulations, and prioritizing projects.
  • Meet with the Director of R&D weekly to discuss department status and review open items.
  • Assist in writing scientific abstracts, papers, and patents for publication.
  • Identify and propose improvements to the New Product Development process, including project tracking, lab organization, and interdepartmental communication.

Requirements:

  • B.S., B.A., M.S., or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of management experience in a lab setting, with product formulation or related experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, computer, and organizational skills.
