Mission Critical Analyst for Advanced Simulation Projects

We are seeking an exceptional Mission Critical Analyst to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a critical member of our Strike Analysis Group, you will be responsible for developing and analyzing complex models using AFSIM. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-impact analysis products that support the acquisition, maintenance, and assessment of various aircraft and weapon assets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement advanced models and simulations using AFSIM to analyze sensor, tracker, communication, and weapon systems.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, assess risk, and document uncertainties in simulation results.
- Collaborate with our software development team to improve custom tools, including designing efficient data representations, testing accurate interactions, and automating production analysis pipelines.
- Present your work through briefings to technical specialists and decision-makers.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- At least two years of experience working with AFSIM to conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Experience conducting statistical analysis to identify trends and draw conclusions.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as MATLAB or Python.
- The ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and meet the requirements for access to classified information.

Compensation and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is between $90,000 and $220,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
