About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer to join our team at FASTSIGNS ® of Erie, PA. As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for creating computer-generated vinyl and/or full-color graphics output that can be weeded, cut, and applied or printed and mounted to a substrate.

The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and who is determined to make every project their absolute best.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule the center's workflow efficiently.
  • Read and interpret work orders, determine the best output method, and determine the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy.
  • Work with coworkers and customers on file transfers, FTP access, photo library options, online proofs, etc.
  • Prepare comprehensive illustrations, sketches, layouts, and copy for print reproduction according to client or supervisor instructions.
  • Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to the plotter or printer.
  • Provide proofs as necessary for customer approval.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records.
  • Minimize waste by efficiently using appropriate inventory, reporting inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the manager.
  • Help unload raw materials and clean and maintain storage areas.
  • Assist in the production area as needed.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as needed, such as answering the phone, helping at the front counter, consulting with customers, etc.

Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; an advanced education degree is preferred.
  • Strong PC and Mac skills and internet, publishing software, and sign production software skills are essential.
  • Previous sign or print industry experience is required.
  • Previous service business experience is desired.
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Able to effectively and efficiently organize, prioritize, and manage clients, team members, and work.
  • Able to sit and view a computer screen for long periods.
  • Able to lift 50 or more pounds.
  • Must have the flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back-and-forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate.
  • Able to use light power equipment.

Salary:
Estimated salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, based on location and experience.
