Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled adult probation officer to join our team. As a case manager, you will be responsible for supervising adult probationers, reviewing and investigating cases, preparing pre- and post-sentence reports, and developing and implementing supervision plans and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and enforce Conditions of Community Supervision;Evaluate the effectiveness of supervision plans and make necessary adjustments;Develop and implement rehabilitation programs to help probationers meet their goals;Maintain accurate and detailed records of all interactions with probationers;Collaborate with internal staff, community resources, and outside agencies to develop and implement effective supervision strategies.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university;
  • At least two (2) years of work experience as a Dallas County CSO;
  • Working knowledge of community supervision laws, CJAD standards, and grant requirements;
  • Ability to input and retrieve data and information using designated client management systems, County systems, and e-mail systems;
  • Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel;
  • Ability to create and document clear, concise case narratives and reports;
  • Effective time management, problem-solving, and listening skills;
  • Strong observation, perception, and judgment skills;
  • Sound work ethics, cultural awareness, and sensitivity;
  • A valid Texas Driver's License, with a good driving record;
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check.

Work Environment:

This position primarily performs work outside of a standard office environment. Travel to conduct client home and employment visits is required. Ability to travel to various work site locations within Dallas County is also required.
