Senior Healthcare Director

We are seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Director to join our team in a pivotal role overseeing both administrative and clinical aspects of healthcare delivery across the state. This position demands strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and effective communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Somatic Provider Oversight: Regularly communicate with site Medical Directors and providers, conducting facility visits to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and support for providers in the state, assisting with their development of clinical and managerial skills, and ensuring compliance with Wellpath clinical guidelines and policies.
- Clinical Leadership: Participate in mortality reviews, support recruitment and onboarding of new providers, and ensure on-call and on-site coverage at facilities. Monitor pharmaceutical product usage for cost-effective therapy and participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program.
- Policy Review and Approval: Assist in reviewing and approving off-site service requests, annual review of clinical guidelines and policies, and ensure credentialing and privileging compliance in line with Wellpath and regulatory expectations.
- Liaison and Support: Serve as a liaison between Wellpath and local jurisdictions, participating in various meetings and committees, and providing medical services when necessary, while also offering support in handling grievances, lawsuits, or complaints at the administrative level.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: A graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school is required (M.D. preferred).
- Experience: Three years of physician experience is required, including one year of management or supervisory level experience. Experience in a corrections environment with knowledge of National, State, and local standards, regulations, and laws is preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current licensure as a physician in the state of employment is required, along with possession and maintenance of current controlled substances / DEA licensure.
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000-$150,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
