Job Summary

Raba Kistner Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Technician to join our team in Conroe, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting field or laboratory testing, sampling, and/or inspection services to ensure the quality and safety of construction materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with dispatchers and coordinators to ensure priorities and deadlines are met in both the field and laboratory.
  • Meet with supervisors of contractors, engineer/architect representatives, and/or other project leads on project sites to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling, or inspection of construction materials or construction procedures.
  • Ensure safe utilization, storage, and maintenance of all nuclear gauges and field equipment, following safety protocols.
  • Communicate project progress and delays to supervisors and dispatchers.
  • Submit accurate and complete testing/inspection reports on a daily basis.
  • Drive company vehicles to job sites in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma, G.E.D., or possess at least one current relevant industry certification, such as ACI Field, ACI Concrete Strength, ACI Aggregates, TxDOT SB101, SB102, SB103, SB201, SB202, 1A, or 1B, or other comparable industry certifications as required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet firm's auto insurability requirements. Able to travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain.
Working Conditions

The Construction Materials Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, often outdoors, and may be exposed to hazardous materials, noise, dust, fumes, grease, and oils. Regular use of non-complex machines and equipment and hand tools, such as sledgehammers, shovels, and picks, is required. Work assignments may require protracted or irregular hours, and flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
