Job Summary

PCL Construction is seeking a highly skilled Building Systems Manager to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of building systems, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze building system trades' progress to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality, schedule, and constructability.
  • Process critical building systems submittals, coordination documents, and reports.
  • Coordinate the drawing process and provide direction on model coordination as required.
  • Review and understand prime contract and building systems subcontract details, identifying and communicating risks and opportunities to the project team.
  • Negotiate and process change notices/orders related to building systems, assessing their effect on the project budget, scope, and schedule.
  • Assist in providing direction to project teams, consultants, and trade contractors through the design-build production process.
  • Monitor building systems trades activity and enforce preapproved trade contractor quality-management programs.
  • Utilize internal project management operating systems to track trade contractor changes and building systems-related forecasts.
  • Lead the project team and be responsible for the overall execution of the building systems commissioning process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; tradesperson or postsecondary diploma/degree in a related discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls) preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical/electrical construction.
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, principles, and practices.
  • Experience with reviewing trade contractors' progress billings and assessing for accuracy.
  • Ability to facilitate the coordination of mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil, and structural drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of basic construction law and ability to apply building codes as required.
  • Understanding of different types of contract delivery methods.
  • Ability to manage contractual obligations and responsibilities related to building systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
