Job Summary

The Intensive Treatment Program (ITP) at OLV Human Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist - Intensive Treatment Program Specialist, you will work with adolescents, typically 12 – 18 years old, diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder, mental health concerns, and developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each client, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
  2. Provide speech/language therapy services to individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental illness, as outlined in their Individual Education Plan.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the treatment program of each client.
  4. Conduct ongoing assessments and modify treatment plans as needed.
  5. Train and support other personnel in strategies to build expressive/receptive language skills.
  6. Implement Alternative and Augmentative Communication systems, as appropriate, for non-verbal or limited verbal youth.
  7. Perform parent/caregiver education and develop home programs as necessary.
  8. Maintain accurate records and submit required documentation.
  9. Stay up-to-date with legal responsibilities, professional ethics, standards of practice, and agency rules, policies, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology/Communication Disorders.
  • 1-2 years' experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and Applied Behavior Analysis methodology.
  • Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certification in NYS, Valid NYS SLP Licensure, Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (CCC-SLP), and Current NYS Driver's License.
