Nurse Practitioner

University of New Mexico - Hospitals is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Pre-Op Med Optimization Clinic at SRMC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide safe, direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in the ambulatory setting. This role requires clinical leadership, mentorship, and education to patients and families.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Lead and mentor staff to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement patient education programs to promote self-management, hope, and empowerment.
- Assume relief charge duties and ensure smooth operation of the clinic.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification.
- 3 years of direct experience in a similar role.
- Bilingual English and Spanish, or proficiency in other languages (Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo).
This role requires heavy physical exertion, with frequent lifting of patients and equipment. The work environment is fast-paced, with exposure to biohazardous materials and chemicals.
