Job Title: Department Head - Guest Experience

Redemption Church is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Head to lead our Guest Experience team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and exceptional experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cast a vision for excellence in guest services, emphasizing a welcoming, informing, and serving approach.
  • Manage event planning, coordination, communication, and high-quality delivery for major events and special initiatives.
  • Lead interdepartmental communications to ensure seamless execution of events and initiatives.
  • Be a visible and approachable leader among the serve team, addressing high-level issues and concerns.
  • Coordinate signage consistency and placement in parking and entrances for special events.
  • Manage departmental budgets for events, services, and conferences.
  • Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, relationship building, and recognition programs.
  • Communicate the experience vision to staff department heads to standardize the volunteer experience across teams.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable appearance of the lobby, worship sanctuary, lounge, and parking lot areas.
  • Provide coaching and leadership for the Guest Experience serve team and team leaders.
  • Co-lead internal monthly GT Huddle with the Growth Track Department.
  • Collaborate with Lounge 105 for apparel and merch launches and displays around the campus.
  • Implement new experiences on Sundays and for events, such as party plaza activities and signage.
  • Responsible for Dream Team-specific events, celebrations, recognition programs, and Coach + Captain Program.
  • Directly manage and be accountable for the following serve areas: Serve Central, Greeter, First Time Guest, Gift Carts, DJ, Fun Squad, Party Plaza, and Parking.
  • Create and maintain a first-time guest experience from entering the campus to exiting.
  • Monitor scheduling of all Dream Team for Sunday gatherings and special events.
  • Ensure consistency and effectiveness in all systems and procedures each week.
  • Collaborate with Guest Experience leaders from other campuses to discover best practices and contribute to the overall health of the church.
  • Oversee event setup and breakdown with collaboration of other staff, facilities, and volunteers.
  • Maintain proficiency and understanding of all databases, software, and programs.
  • Maintain high-level relationships with partnering teams.
  • Oversee management of team calendar and schedule.
  • Oversee purchasing and storage of all materials, equipment, inventory, marketing items, etc.
  • Oversee all internal department partnerships – Asana requests, meetings, etc.
  • Manage metrics and reporting for areas.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in guest experience, with exceptional attention to detail, logistics, creative, and environmental vision.
  • High-level networking/relational strengths.
  • Ability to establish strong professional relationships with peers, volunteers, and potential vendors.
  • High level of initiative and ability to take a proactive approach to work.
  • Performs job duties on time with excellence.
  • Actively participates in the life of Redemption Church.
  • 1-2 years of event planning/project management experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience managing customer service.
  • 1-3 years of mid-to-high-level administrative office skills.
  • Advanced level of expertise in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with a non-profit a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 10-25lbs.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Fluent in English (any secondary language is helpful).
  • Be able to bend down, pick up, and move items from one room to the next as needed.
