Academy of Art University seeks a visionary leader to head its Industrial Design department. As Executive Director, you will be responsible for managing, mentoring, and inspiring a team of directors, associate directors, faculty, and staff to deliver exceptional education and research in industrial design.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and maintain the standard and requirements set by Academy of Art University, including all accreditation guidelines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industries for placement, sponsorship opportunities, and advice on the program.
- Search for professionals in the field of expertise for teaching prospects and develop existing teachers.
- Maintain communication with alumni to ensure their positive support towards the program.
- Monitor all activities within the School of Industrial Design to ensure safety.
- Update current curriculum to maintain cutting-edge curriculum.
- Manage the content and consistent quality of the Industrial Design program curriculum, both onsite and online.
- Recruit professional faculty as needed following the University's faculty interview and recommendation process.
- Provide annual performance evaluations for faculty to ensure excellence in education.
- Encourage academic excellence and assist both undergraduate and graduate students in successful completion of their chosen degrees.
- A minimum of 7 years' professional experience in the field of Industrial Design, solid knowledge in the Industrial Design field.
- A minimum of 4 years' management experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership, training, and developmental skills as well as strong decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization.
Academy of Art University offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $150,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k options, paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick leave, and a commuter benefit program. The Academy also offers full-time employees an opportunity to take one undergraduate course tuition-free each semester and access to our multi-lane swimming pool, two fitness centers, and many recreational programs.
