Key Responsibilities:
- Generate comprehensive and precise cost estimates for electric transmission, distribution, and substation initiatives.
- Develop conceptual cost assessments based on one-line diagrams and general layout drawings.
- Examine technical drawings and perform take-offs to create detailed labor, material, and equipment cost estimates.
- Formulate detailed bid estimates and evaluations to support contractor assessments.
- Compile cost estimate reports as required by management.
- Engage with project management and internal stakeholders regarding proposed modifications and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Establish a system for continuously updating cost and labor hour databases.
- Collect, analyze, and archive project estimate and cost data, creating historical documentation.
- Evaluate estimate accuracy by comparing actual costs against projected estimates.
- Be prepared to perform additional duties during storm restoration efforts as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, or a Business Discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a construction project team, focusing on cost analysis, estimating, scheduling, or project management.
- Familiarity with Work and Cost Breakdown Structures.
- Understanding of both conceptual and detailed design estimating.
- Ability to comprehend labor, material, and equipment cost estimation.
- Self-motivated with the capability to seek project-related information from stakeholders.
- Customer-oriented with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
- Ability to interpret electric system one-line diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with effective planning and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Must possess and maintain a valid US Driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
