About the Role

Cordoba Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Transportation Sector team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing mechanical systems and components for public facilities, including transit, aviation, and maintenance facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and report on existing building and other facility mechanical equipment and systems
  • Design of facility systems, including HVAC, fire suppression, plumbing, building automation, vehicle lifts and servicing, and others
  • Conduct technical analyses, simulations, and testing to validate designs and ensure they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards
  • Ensure all mechanical designs comply with industry and client standards, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Identify and collaboratively resolve engineering challenges, providing innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Stay informed about relevant codes and standards for transportation sector design and ensure their application in all projects
  • Support design staff with engineering drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications
  • Oversee and manage mechanical engineering tasks from concept through to implementation
  • Coordinate with project managers, client staff, electrical engineers, civil engineers, and other disciplines to ensure cohesive project delivery
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure high mechanical design and manufacturing standards
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with other aspects of the project's design and construction
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • California Professional Engineering (PE) License, or ability to obtain within one year after hire
  • 15 years' extensive experience in mechanical engineering facility design, preferably in the transportation industry
  • Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the rail or transportation industry
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or similar
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Proven track record of successfully collaborating, leading, and delivering complex engineering projects
