Position Overview:
Acts as the initial point of contact for patients in outpatient practices and pathology. Collects and evaluates patient demographic and insurance information to ensure optimal reimbursement for the MetroHealth System. Facilitates accurate patient registration, appointment scheduling, pre-certification, and service authorization. Adheres to the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent certification.

Must possess one of the following:
At least one year of experience in medical billing or patient registration.

Relevant education in medical billing or patient registration from an accredited institution.

Current certification as a Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA).


All candidates must successfully complete the PSR pre-employment screening test with a minimum score of 75% and the post-employment assessment with a minimum score of 80%.


Preferred:
Two years of relevant work experience and/or education.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently throughout the day.

May require prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

Normal visual acuity with or without correction.

Normal hearing ability with or without correction.

Manual dexterity to operate office equipment is necessary.

Occasional lifting of up to twenty-five (25) pounds may be required.

Effective communication skills in face-to-face, phone, email, and other formats.

Ability to view computer screens and departmental documents clearly.
