Job Title: Field Service Technician

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial ventilation systems, blowpipes, structural steel, and sheet metal projects.

About the Position

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You will interact with customers, other technicians, engineers, and installation team members to ensure that our customers receive the best possible service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial ventilation systems, blowpipes, structural steel, and sheet metal projects.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair on designated equipment and APC systems.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and field modifications required within the work order.
  • Identify, order, and manage repair parts required for the operation of the APC equipment.
  • Keep up-to-date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal schedules.
  • Continuously update service records in a timely manner to ensure proper completion and follow-up.
  • Maintain routine communication with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
  • Maintain tools and test equipment and ensure they are properly calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Identify and participate in sales opportunities such as new contracts, contract renewals, and system sales.
Requirements
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate fluently with customers and possess good customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical issues through non-technical descriptions provided by customers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service Air Pollution Control Systems.
  • Project management skills. Project management training or supervision experience preferred.
  • Logical skills and ability to prioritize tasks, such as urgency, and/or site safety conditions that require prompt attention.
  • Familiarity with mobile test tools and application of applied math to confirm values of data taken.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards in industrial construction and air emissions industry.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet customer and contract requirements.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, etc.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 65 lbs., climb, and meet necessary physical capacity to work in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Ability to travel. Assignments will vary from 1 to 5+ days and will require overnight stays and involve travel by driving or flying to the location.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required. BS degree in Engineering or relevant trade licensing, certificates, industrial accreditations, and work experience within the APC industry, preferred.
