Position Summary:

The Field Service Technician will deliver technical assistance and maintenance services to our clientele. This role involves the assembly, installation, preventive upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery, conveyor systems, and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a Customer First approach while ensuring a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and procedures, including compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain regular and effective communication with management and clients regarding project timelines and expectations, demonstrating the ability to work independently with sound judgment.
  • Foster effective communication with subcontractors, installers, and team members, taking initiative to resolve issues and being resourceful on-site.
  • Conduct evaluations of projects at various construction phases, providing updates on progress or challenges to all stakeholders.
  • Comply with all client workplace protocols, including site access procedures, professional attire, social media policies, mobile phone usage, and safety standards.
  • Estimate project scope, materials, timelines, and implementation strategies.
  • Utilize tools, materials, and equipment relevant to the tasks at hand.
  • Contribute to the effective operation of material handling equipment at client locations.
  • Understand client site requirements, supporting parts and services as necessary, and identifying opportunities for system enhancements through equipment and technology.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
  • Strive to consistently exceed performance agreements at client sites.
  • Be prepared to travel extensively, averaging 5 weeks of travel between cities by plane or car.
  • Engage in the building, installation, and maintenance of labeling systems and packaging machinery.
  • Commission labeling machines and oversee equipment at pilot sites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Participate in the maintenance of material handling equipment at client locations.
  • Understand client site requirements, providing support for parts and services, and identifying opportunities for system enhancements.
  • Work diligently to consistently exceed performance agreements.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 100% travel, averaging 5 weeks of consistent travel between cities by plane or car.
  • Represent the company professionally to clients on-site.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks on related equipment.
  • Interpret and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints.

Qualifications:

  • Basic customer service experience and a commitment to representing the company professionally on-site.
  • Willingness to expand knowledge in automation, conveyance, and warehouse construction.
  • Enthusiasm for enhancing skills through education and training.
  • Ability to pass a background check and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, professionalism, and integrity in all aspects of work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in diverse commercial environments and be available on-call as needed.
  • Capability to lift and transport heavy equipment as required.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and physically demanding setting.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires up to 100% travel, frequently moving between cities by plane or car.
  • Work will occur in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • May require on-call duties and work outside of standard business hours.
