Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Architect to join our team at Hillsborough County. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-level infrastructure technology standards and multi-platform hardware/software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced research and development to establish enterprise architecture standards and infrastructure technology standards.
  • Engineer solutions using established technology standards to develop multi-platform hardware/software solutions.
  • Perform project management duties on complex global, enterprise technology projects.
  • Act as team technical liaison for externally managed technology projects and provide project management mentoring for Network Administrators and Network Engineers.
  • Monitor and control special technology infrastructure projects and serve as liaison to senior management.
  • Provide advanced technical debugging and troubleshooting for escalated complex issues.
  • Provide administrative and technical guidance/support for subordinate-level technical positions.
  • Review and monitor performance and perform capacity planning of enterprise infrastructure systems.
  • Recommend innovative solutions to reduce operational costs and improve client productivity.
  • Perform enterprise-level technical design, implementation, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of enterprise Active Directory tree/forest and domain trust and synchronizations.
  • Develop, edit, and present technical designs, network diagrams, project plans, technology plans/roadmaps, and other technical reports.
  • Develop and review procurement-related documentation.
  • Perform server and computer builds, installing multi-platform operating systems & applications, and deploying through automation.
  • Perform configuration, optimizing, monitoring, and system backups for enterprise network servers, storage systems, backup systems, personal computers, peripherals, and end-user devices.
  • Perform remedial troubleshooting for hardware and software systems, preventative maintenance, patching, and upgrades.
  • Supervise subordinate technical personnel engaged in performance of installation, maintenance, and support of hardware and software systems.
  • Provide mentoring and training to peers and subordinates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in information technology or related engineering field.
  • Six years of experience troubleshooting and supporting enterprise-level hardware/software solutions for network servers, storage systems, backup systems, personal computers, peripherals, and end-user devices, and experience managing complex enterprise technology projects in accordance with established project management methodology.
  • Knowledge of industry project methodologies and use of documentation platforms for project and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure engineering, design, and architecture of multi-platform hardware/software solutions for enterprise network servers, storage systems, backup systems, personal computers, peripherals, and end-user devices.
  • Knowledge of information security practices and applicable laws related to information security and their effective application in a like environment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, characteristics, features, and troubleshooting methods associated with network server x86 platforms and virtual servers running Windows and Linux operating systems, server-based applications, network storage systems, and enterprise-level backup systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, features, and troubleshooting methods of computers, end-user devices, desktop operating systems, end-user applications, and desktop management software associated with personal computers, peripherals, and end-user devices.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple complex projects and tasks to meet delivery dates.
  • Ability to develop, edit, and present technical designs, network diagrams, project plans, and other technical reports.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/software technical issues associated with enterprise network servers, storage systems, backup systems, personal computers, peripherals, and end-user devices.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and provide superior customer service to end-users.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to end-users, vendors, management, and peers.
Physical Requirements
  • Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
  • Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
  • Work is usually performed in an office environment.
